We have reviewed many chain hotels in our previous inspections, now it is the time for a non-chain property in the capital of Latvia, the city of Riga. The Riga Islande Hotel is located on the Kipsala Island quite close to the old town. The location is perfect for tourists as you can even walk to the old town.

After having previous inspections in the neighboring Netherlands, now we move to the capital of Belgium, the city of Brussels, and take a look at one of its central hotels, i.e. Crowne Plaza Brussels – Le Palace hotel. It is located within the central area of the city but on the edge. It is in close proximity to the railroad station, Brussels South, just a 10-minute walk. There are several metro stations nearby as well.

Отель Crowne Plaza Brussels – Le Palace расположен в черте центра города, хотя и на его окраине. Рядом есть железнодорожная станция Брюссель Юг/Южная, всего в десяти минутах ходьбы. We have just reviewed one of IHG brands in the area of the Amsterdam Schiphol Airport, Crowne Plaza, and this time we are going to focus on a less fancier brand, Holiday Inn Express. We are already familiar with Holiday Inn Express Amsterdam – Schiphol hotel since our previous inspection made in September 2012; so we decided to see what has changed for that time.

“Industrial Town”. This name totally fits the description of Tampere, the second largest town in Finland, after the Greater Helsinki Area. Tampere is not a typical town among the largest Finnish towns, i.e. it has 2 places which can be considered as a city center. The first one is, perhaps, the railroad station, which is not something to be symbolic, and the second one is the actual city center. However, speaking of the symbols of Tampere, the Näsinneula Tower is one of the most recognizable symbols of the town.

After the official draw ceremony of XX International Tennis Tournament St. Petersburg Open 2015, we continue to describe the anniversary event that took place in St. Petersburg from 21 to 27 September. Not only did the twentieth tournament change the location moving from the traditional Saint Petersburg Sports and Concert Complex (“SKK”) to a new “Sibur Arena”, but also introduced a number of innovations, for example, "Show of Legends" with Russian and international stars of world tennis. “Hospitality Industry in films and literature” series.  Four Seasons Hotel Gresham Palace Budapest appears in a new comedy “Spy” (2015) under its own name. You can see the hotel’s lobby, the front side, the hallway, and one of the rooms. Despite the movie is not centered on the Four Seasons Hotel Gresham Palace Budapest, it still plays quite an important part of the plot being its special feature. The hotel is stated to be one of the world’s finest Art Nouveau buildings, definitely worth visiting.

 

Серия «Индустрия Гостеприимства в кино и литературе». Отель Four Seasons Gresham Palace Budapest (Будапешт) представлен зрителю в новой комедии «Шпион» (2015) под собственным названием. Вы можете увидеть фасад отеля, его лобби, коридор и один из номеров. "Saimaa region". This chapter of the journey is dedicated to two towns of Eastern Finland, i.e. Lappeenranta and Imatra. The two towns are located pretty close to the border of Finland and Russia. The distance between Lappeenranta and Imatra is just 40 kilometers, so there are neighbors. This region around the Lake Saimaa is one of the most, if not the most, beautiful regions in Finland. Breathtaking views of the lake, amazing nature, a feeling of peaceful silence, and, at the same time, a crowded place full of tourists and citizens.

His areas of expertise include revenue management, sales and marketing, food & beverage in both branded and independent hotels.

Observation decks: Näsinneula Tower

Näsinneula Tower is a must-to-see attraction if you are in Tampere. The tower was built in 1970-1971 and designed by a Finnish architect. This tower is the second tallest observation deck in Nordic countries and, of course, the tallest free-standing building in Finland. However, there is another observation tower in Finland, i.e. in Kuopio, but that one is lower, only 75 meters high, and a bit older. The tower in Kuopio is located on a high hill, which makes it look higher as well, whereas the Näsinneula tower itself is 168 meters in height. 

Башня Näsinneula – это одна из тех достопримечательностей, которую обязательно стоит посетить, если вы оказались в городе Тампере. Башня была построена в 1970-1971 годах и спроектирована финским архитектором. Данная башня является второй по высоте смотровой площадкой среди cкандинавских стран и, конечно же, самым высоким свободно стоящим сооружением в Финляндии. Однако в Финляндии существует еще одна подобная смотровая площадка, а именно в городе Куопио, но ее высота составляет лишь 75 метров, и она немного старше. Башня в Куопио расположена на достаточно высоком холме, собственно из-за чего и сама башня кажется выше, в то время как башня Näsinneula насчитывает 168 метров в высоту.
