Dresden is not only one of the largest cultural centres in Germany, but also the industrial city. The proof of this fact is the Transparent Factory (“Die Gläserne Manufaktur” is the original German
name) of Volkswagen in Dresden which was opened in 2001. Since that time “Die Gläserne
Manufaktur” has been the production site for the Phaeton, Volkswagen's luxury
sedan. As the factory is made of glass, any passerby can witness the process of a
manual car assembly. Actually, there are lots of opportunities for visitors,
for instance, everybody can learn more about the open-to-view
